Create your own Firework!!

We had two winners for this contest! Both win $500 in fireworks and we will take their ideas to China. If their product is produced they will receive a free case! Read the winning submissions below!! Thanks to everyone who participated--we had a great time reading them all!

MaKenzie:
My ideal Firework would be called Mount Redoubt. Redoubt would be a show in its own. Redoubt would start out slow with red, white, and blue smoke that would sore more than 20 feet into the air like a volcanic plume. As the smoke fills the air white, yellow and red crackling stars would shoot up in the plume creating a dramatic 3D thundering lighting show and as the fury intensifies Redoubt begins spouting fire followed by large explosive volcanic bombs of red, silver, yellow, blue and white comet tails with reports will light the sky and plume like you have never seen before and as it all calms down and you begin to think it’s all over Redoubt releases all her might with a tremendous explosive eruption of smoke, multi color volcanic crackling bombs that shower the sky, and a 16 shot aerial display with colors and sound that will leave you breathless. This spectacular eruption of Mount Redoubt carries on for over five minutes and when the shadows of smoke and the dust begins to settle and the smell of sulfur lingers in the air you will be left fascinated and in a state of ah.

Audrey:
My firework would be a tribute to our military! Freedom Flight would shoot high into the air and shoot a shower of red, white and blue sparks viewable for miles! After the sparks were out it would explode loudly and release thousands of biodegradable paper flags showering patriotism onto the spectators.

Try What Trystal Likes

Trystal is a true pyro. She loves all sorts of fireworks and really knows her products.

She began her list with helicopters. Her two favorites are 2 color space ships and yellow jackets. She likes the two color space ships for the two stages of color (red and green) and they don't explode after take off and she likes the yellow jackets for the exact opposite--loudest exploding helicopter that gets some pretty good height under it!

From helicopters we move into the novelty section where piccolo petes top the list with their high pitched screaming noise that has the added bonus of being a good animal deterrent. As for smoke her picks are gushing smoke with its rich long lasting color and chick-stick for the long lasting bright pink smoke it emits. Tying helicopters in with novelty Trystal really enjoys the Airport. It has an amazing variety of novelty effects with whistles, pops, helicopters, and a flag thats raised for the finale! A kids total party in a box! Finishing out her novelty section list is the Smoke Jumper. She loves that it's great for daytime use as it combines colorful smoke with a parachute army man that is easy to visually follow down to the ground!

In the fountain section, Fish out of Water is her first pick. The bright color and squiggles are a unique effect in a fountain and makes this her favorite. Taste the rainbow comes in second with its variety in color and the fish effect that isn't often seen in a fountain. The junior cuckoo finishes out her fountain picks with good color for the price range and the whistling adds more sounds that most small fountains.

Speaking of noise, the mighty cracker is her favorite box of firecrackers! The waterproof safety fuse adds more variety to the cracker than the regular strings. She also loves exploding ground blooms which are the loudest ground explosion!

In the roman candle section Trystal has three favorite, the 10 ball mini, flying fish, and flat 12 pack. The mini candles have low noise and lots of color while the flying fish candles have that awesome fish effect that creates motion at the break. As for the flat 12 pack, what can we say you get a little bit of everything in terms of color, noise, and effect!

Finally, we are at multishots. Trystal loves all of the saturn missiles as they fire rapidly with no waiting between shots and you get the identical sound effect (whistle/pop) that bottle rockets make. Garden in Spring has been around for years and for good reason. It makes Trystal's list because of its great combination of fountain effect with multi-colored aerial breaks along with the whistling and report. Grapes over Vineyard has also been around for a long time (although the package images has changed from time to time) and it is one of Trystal's favorites with its awesome mix of purples and greens. Finishing out her list is Crazy exciting. She loves the large variety of color (five different ones) with the crackling mine and aerial break that give this cake its layered effect!

Ashley's Awesome List

Ashley K has been with Gorilla for 16 years when she began waving as a Gorilla. Ashley says the Hard to Beat is a great multi-shot for the land of the midnight sun! Lots of colors and crackling! Next on her list is Deja Blue "I love the swirling fish and Deja Blue definitely has a lot of those. Great color but not too loud!!" As for artillery shells, Super Magnum tops her list, "an awesome artillery with lots of color and great effects!" Ashley says the new Crackling Saturn Missile 300 is the best of the saturn missiles. It has a great brigade and the crackling spices up the show!

Buddy's Best

When asked what his favorite fireworks were, this is what Buddy (manager of our North Pole stand for 18 years now at our Houston stand, this is his 20th year!) had to say. His theory on fireworks is go high or go home so he's a big fan of the large aerials. His favorite 500g cake is Loyal to None. This cake comes with a big pirate on the package, which almost is good enough reason itself, but is also full of beautiful colors, noise and the ever awesome-fish effect! When asked about artillery shells his pick as easy--excalibur! He loves the wide variety of effects in the shells and the added bonus that they are the biggest breaks you can get (not to mention the highest)! For the 200g category Buddy likes the long time classic Motor Mouth. This cake is angled and has a whopping 96 shots creating all sorts of noise, comets, and fish effect breaks! Finishing out his list is the Beyond the Glory roman candles. These candles come in an 8 pack with four different colors. The candles unique effect resembles an artillery shell break. He loves their noise and color. He hopes you enjoy these just as much as he has for years!
